  8. 10pm seems to be past the time it's due. Just saying. We could have had 2 bids at 10. Who wins then? 9:59 .59 was the deadline.

  9. You're right. I apologize. In my hurry to close all of the bids, I must have written the wrong name. Christopher is correct, bids have to be in before 10. Which makes Christopher the winning bidder. I'll be emailing you shortly.

  10. Christopher, please post a comment with your email address. Without it, I have no way of contacting you for the win. Thanks!

  11. wait a minute! I was going by what it says in the "how it works" rules. It says "timestamped by 10:00 p.m." not 9:59, or I would have bid differently!!

I believe this was an issue on earlier days and they came to the conclusion that 10:00:59 was the deadline not 9:59:59

  12. To be fair, we'll have to go with hmlashelle. I can't argue with our own rules! I apologize for going back and forth, Christopher! Check out the editor critique on Day 5: http://readforrelief.blogspot.com/2011/09/day-5-item-11-editor-10-page-critique.html. It closes tomorrow, and the highest bid right now is $125.

  14. If that's what the rules say then I guess that's the rules but in that case it should have the rules broken down by seconds as I had a bid typed in ready to place at 10 pm which would have the 10 pm time stamp but as the rules explain bidding closes at 10 pm it suggests all bids must be placed prior to 10pm. If it's 10pm and 59 seconds the rules should explicitly say as I could have and would have gotten another bid in.

  15. We completely understand the confusion, and are sorry it has influenced people to bid differently than they might have. We will make sure future posts explain that timestamps of 10PM and earlier will all be counted so that rules are clear both at the individual item level and on the general rules page.

Thanks again to everyone for bidding! Your support is much appreciated.
